J.B. Mangold was born in upstate New Jersey, the youngest child of five. Soon we moved to Western New York, where I spent most of my youth before joining the U.S. Army. I served six years as an aircraft mechanic, a good portion of those years in Special Ops. Upon honorably exiting the service, I attended Georgia Tech, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design. Since then, I have worked in Graphic Design, created trade show artwork, and designed commercial and domestic playgrounds. I currently oversee a garbage truck manufacturer’s Test Lab, where we build and test prototype designs.
I have been fascinated by fantasy and science fiction stories all my life, wanting one day to create my own. Endlessly inspired by music and the miniatures games I played, I created many of my own tales, reciting them to myself on long car journeys or listening to my favorite music when relaxing. However, it was not until my lovely wife pried these stories from me that anyone else heard these yarns (I had never thought anyone else would be interested.) It was she who urged me to begin writing, and it was she who spurred me to begin self-publishing on Amazon.Com. She has always been my muse and the most potent motivator for all I do.
So, here I am, presenting my stories to you. My greatest wish is for people to enjoy my stories and fall in love with my characters. Ever since my first novel was released, I have felt there is an unwritten contract to my readers that I will see the adventure through and provide you with a spectacular and satisfying ending. This is underway, with progress being made every single day. And once this yarn is done, many more are waiting in the wings to be unveiled. I can’t wait to show you everything I have been crafting... When the time is right…
